The remnant mandrel is the part of the mandrel that remains in the hollow rivet and can take on an additional securing function depending on the application.

Blind rivets - Terminology:

• The blind rivet consists of two parts: the hollow rivet and the rivet mandrel.
• The hollow rivet consists of the setting head and the hollow rivet shank
• The setting head is located on the processing side and is variable in diameter and shape. It is available in flat round head, countersunk head and large head versions.
The rivet shank is available in different lengths depending on the material thickness to be riveted.
• The rivet mandrel has the task of deforming the rivet shank. It contains the predetermined breaking point. Here, the mandrel tears off after the rivet has been fully formed.
• The residual rivet mandrel is the part of the rivet mandrel that remains in the hollow rivet. The remaining mandrel is the part of the rivet mandrel that is torn off the set rivet using a blind rivet setting tool.
