Sturdy hacksaw frame with maximum 750 N (75 kP) blade tension and comfortable hand grip. Alternative blade setting at 90° for flush cutting. Overall length 425 mm.
The bow saw with its prominent bow frame is characterised by the u-shaped bow which tensions the saw blades. The limitation in depth of cut of hand bow saws is presented by the distance from the blade to the bow. This frame shape permits the use of particularly slim saw blades, which in other frame shapes would be liable to buckle when subjected to cutting movements with the force in alternate senses or other than in the pulling sense. Thanks to the thin hacksaw blades the metal cutting effort required is reduced, because of the small cutting width. Thus this type of saw is the classic standard for hacksaw work in metalworking.
