SFS completes merger with Hoffmann

12 May 2022

The merger between SFS Group and Hoffmann SE, announced on 22 December 2021, was completed on 11 May 2022. Thus, Hoffmann is now officially merged into the SFS organisation. The bundling of forces marks a milestone and opens up attractive development opportunities for both companies due to their complementary positioning.

With satisfaction of all the formal requirements, the merger between SFS and Hoffmann was successfully completed. One of the relevant legal conditions required was approval by the competition authorities of five different countries – this has now been granted.

Involvement of Hoffmann at all levels
In terms of organisation, Hoffmann will be managed as an independent division within the Distribution & Logistics segment. The involvement of Hoffmann at various levels within SFS will maintain continuity and form the basis for successful future development: Martin Reichenecker, Chairman of the Board of Management of Hoffmann, will now become a member of the Executive Board of SFS. In addition, Dr. Peter Bauschatz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hoffmann SE, becomes a new member of the SFS Board of Directors.

Market-side potentials in focus
SFS is established in the market as a successful technology group with activities in many fields such as mechanical fastening systems and precision components. Hoffmann is the market leader for quality tools in its core European markets and supplies more than 135,000 customers there. There are many fields where there is potential for development; with overlaps not only on the customer side but above all in the field of tools. Retail sales at SFS are located in the "Distribution & Logistics" segment and have been a partner of Hoffmann Group for almost 30 years. As an international system partner, Hoffmann SE will contribute innovative competence to many areas of the SFS Group.

Further partnership with Contorion
The Berlin-based eCommerce platform Contorion and its subsidiaries are not part of the merger but will remain a fully-fledged part of Hoffmann Group as a contractually integrated partner. Successful cooperation will thus continue in the common interest.
