The vibration-damping GARANT Master Mute boring bar is now also available as a non-modular tool for vibration-free boring of holes with overhang lengths up to 5xD. The boring bar neutralises vibrations in real time using the innovative GARANT Master Mute damping system and is suitable for hole diameters of 10 millimetres and above. The new GARANT Master Mute reducing adapter is a clamping device that is perfectly matched to the boring bar.

The modular sister tool, GARANT Master Mute vibration-damping boring bar with interchangeable cutting head, is used if particularly deep or inaccessible holes need to be bored. It works reliably even with overhang lengths up to 15xD.

GARANT Master Mute boring bars neutralise vibrations in real time, in that their damping system vibrates accordingly. This results in high-quality surfaces and increased productivity, because there is no need to reduce the cutting depth, cutting speed or feed rate. The maintenance-free damping system is pre-set at the factory and does not require any complex adjustment – making the boring bars easy to use and extremely reliable. Users also benefit from the vibration damping, as the boring process causes less noise.

The new GARANT Master Mute reducing adapter ensures optimum positioning of the boring bar in the toolholder. It is precision ground with multiple slots, meaning that it enables full-wrap clamping and therefore the greatest possible clamping force – further reducing vibration.
