Warning:

Intended use
  • Check the ladder after delivery.
  • Visually inspect the ladder for damage and safe use before each use.
  • Hold the ladder firmly when climbing and descending.
  • Hold the ladder when working, or take other safety measures if this is not possible.
  • When transporting the ladder, prevent damage, e.g. by lashing it down, and make sure it is secured/attached appropriately.
  • Make sure that the ladder is suitable for the respective use.
  • In the context of professional use, a risk assessment must be carried out taking into account the legislation in the country of use.
  • When moving the ladder into position, be aware of the risk of collision, such as with pedestrians, vehicles or doors.
  • Lock doors (but not emergency exits) and windows in the work area if possible.
  • For unavoidable work under electrical voltage, use non-conductive ladders.
  • Heed caution in the wind when used outdoors.
  • If a ladder is supplied with stabilising crossbars and these crossbars are to be installed by the user before they first use the ladder, the ladder and user manual must display the respective instructions.
  • Use the ladder only with the splaying safeguard inserted.

  • Reasonably foreseeable misuse
    • Do not place the ladder on contaminated ground.
    • Do not climb or descend the ladder with one’s face turned away.
    • Avoid work that causes lateral loading on ladders, e.g. lateral drilling through solid materials.
    • Do not wear heavy or unwieldy equipment during use.
    • Do not climb the ladder with unsuitable shoes.
    • Do not use ladder in case of physical restrictions.
    • Certain health conditions, medication use and alcohol or drug abuse may endanger safety when using the ladder.
    • Do not stay on the ladder for too long without regular breaks (fatigue is a risk). Do not use if contaminated, e.g. by wet paint, dirt, oil or snow.
    • Do not use ladder outdoors in adverse weather conditions, such as strong winds.
    • Do not use the ladder as a bridge.
    • Do not change the construction of the ladder.
    • Do not move the ladder while standing on it.
    • Stepladders must not be used as single ladders, unless they are designed for this purpose.
    • Horizontal surfaces that resemble the platform of a stepladder but are not designed for it (e.g. plastic work rack) must be clearly labelled on the surface (if required by design).
