BENNING EV 3-2 test adapter
Test adapter with plug type 2 for simulating charging states and testing the effectiveness of protective measures on 1 and 3-phase electric charging stations.
The BENNING EV 3-2 test adapter has been specifically designed for testing electric charging stations in combination with a suitable installation tester.

Test socket and 4 mm sockets for simple connection to an installation tester.
Separate phase indicator with three LEDs for simple voltage testing.
Proximity Pilot (PP) checks the charging cable coding for restricting the charging current.
Control Pilot (CP) simulates the vehicle statuses A, B, C, D and E (short circuit between CP-PE).
BNC connector for the CP signal output for testing with an oscilloscope.
Testing of the EVSE locking system as from status B (stops the charging cable being enabled).

Special features:

• Displays the phase voltages via LEDs.
• Tests EV charging stations both with a permanently connected charging cable and without a connected charging cable.

Vehicle simulation (CP):
In accordance with IEC 61851, the statuses are simulated using a rotary dial.

Status A: no vehicle connected
Status B: vehicle connected, not ready to charge
Status C: vehicle connected, ready to charge, charging area ventilation not required
Status D: vehicle connected, ready to charge, charging area ventilation required
Status E: error, short circuit CP-PE via diode

Cable simulation (PP):
The charging cable coding is simulated using the rotary dial.

The BENNING EV 3-2 test adapter enables safety and function tests to be carried out on certain EV charging stations for electric vehicles in accordance with DIN VDE 0100‑600 (IEC 60364‑6) and DIN VDE 0105‑100 (EN 50110) with the BENNING IT 200 and BENNING IT 130 installation testers.
The BENNING EV 3-2 is intended for testing EV charging stations (wallboxes) – with or without a connected charging cable – in accordance with DIN EN / IEC 61851‑1 (VDE 0122‑1) with charging mode “Mode 3” and has a type 2 plug connector in accordance with IEC / EN 62196.
The BENNING EV 3-2 establishes safe, reliable contact with the BENNING installation tester and triggers the charging station’s charging process by simulating an electric vehicle.

About the installation testers:
To provide efficient, simple and fully standards-compliant testing of wallboxes, when purchasing new equipment we recommend the BENNING IT 200 installation tester (044106) in addition to the BENNING EV 3-2 test adapter.
The BENNING IT 130 supports testing of EV RCDs with measurement of the tripping current (RCD I) with 6 mA DC ramp.
Tests of the tripping time (RCD t) with 6 / 60 / 200 mA DC of residual direct current monitoring devices according to IEC 62955 can only be performed with the BENNING IT 200 (044106).
