The new GARANT Master Chuck hydraulic chucks are available in a slim version (like a shrink-fit chuck) or a curved version (for highly dynamic milling). The “slim” model cuts a fine figure in applications including toolmaking and mould making and can easily compete with a shrink-fit chuck. The curved “performance” model is ideal for highly dynamic roughing and finishing work and even facilitates direct clamping. The new GARANT Master Chucks can withstand up to ten times as many clamping operations as a standard hydraulic chuck and ensure reliable working, even when used continuously at high temperatures. The patented hydraulic clamping system distributes the tensile and radial forces evenly and always ensures a reliable radial run-out for tools with shank tolerance h6.

Both new additions to the GARANT Master range can be used with reducing adapters, giving users a great deal of flexibility. The low tightening torque of the clamping screw also makes them very simple to use.

The “slim” version of the GARANT Master Chuck hydraulic chuck is designed for applications including toolmaking and mould making. Just remove the shrink-fit chuck and insert the hydraulic chuck – it’s that simple with this innovative chuck! Its advantages include the fact that there is no need for shrink-fitting, and the improved damping. There is also no need to reprogram the system if a shrink-fit chuck was used previously as the “slim” version of the GARANT Master Chuck has the exact same outer contours and can be used with the existing programming. What’s more, this model is easily accessible and temperature-resistant to 120 degrees Celsius in 4-hour continuous operation. As such, it comes into its own whenever very good accessibility and minimal interference contours are called for, such as during drilling, reaming or milling work.

In contrast, the “performance” version of the GARANT Master Chuck hydraulic chuck is curved and sturdy and yet also lightweight. The chuck was designed for highly dynamic roughing and finishing work and even allows for direct clamping. Its contour has been optimised using the finite element method (FEM) and it features gentle radius transitions, making it easier to access than a conventional hydraulic chuck and ensuring the force is optimally transferred and distributed. The result? Maximum rigidity, minimal weight, first-rate process reliability even when working at maximum speed, and optimal damping – including when used continuously for 4 hours at up to 170 degrees Celsius.

The new chucks are now available from the Hoffmann Group eShop and from the 2023/2024 catalogue. They feature axial length adjustment (with an adjustment travel of 10 mm) and have an RFID/Balluffchip bore as standard.

The “slim” version of the GARANT Master Chuck hydraulic chuck has the same contour as a shrink-fit chuck, but is easier to handle and provides a damping effect.
