Hoffmann Group builds new logistics centre for factory equipment products +++ 150 new jobs to be created in Bavaria +++ Investment of 25 million Euro
Achim, 27th October 2011 – The Munich Hoffmann Group strives to become the Europe-wide leading trader and manufacturer for factory equipment products. The specialist for quality tools therefore invests heavily in the home country and will start to build a new logistics centre in the Bavarian Odelzhausen in 2012. The medium-sized company budgeted an investment volume of 25 million for this project. A total of 150 new jobs shall be created.
Bavarian location chosen wittingly
“Although the Hoffmann Group has also expanded internationally in the recent years, we have made a conscious decision to realise this project in Bavaria”, says the managing director Bert Bleicher. “Beside the geographical proximity to the headquarter and a first-class infrastructure, in particular the availability of qualified employees was decisive for us.”
The foundation shall be laid in the second half of 2012 on a 70,000 m2 area next to the A8 halfway between Munich and Augsburg. With this competence centre the Hoffmann Group will perspectively gain in international weight in sales of factory equipment.
Balanced corporate strategy
Traditionally, the focus of the Hoffmann Group is mainly on the trading and manufacturing of quality tools as well as on services in that range. “However, today we have already a considerable portfolio in the range of factory equipment. Now our next objective is to extend our product portfolio in this sector significantly and to become the European market leader”, explains Bleicher. Bert Bleicher was awarded with the Deutscher Unternehmerpreis (German entrepreneur price) for medium-sized companies by the Harvard Clubs of Germany last year. Winning factors for the first place were, amongst others, the right corporate strategy and economic orientation, as the corporate history of the Hoffmann Group from a formerly classic tool distributor to a system partner, who combines trading, manufacturing and service competence. The jury particularly emphasised the social commitment of Bleicher and the Hoffmann Group Foundation, which inaugurated together with the Tabaluga Children’s Foundation the therapy and creative centre ORANGE HOUSE for traumatised and disadvantaged children and teenagers in the Bavarian Peißenberg last year.
